Description
The MESA9_TrendVigor Indicator measures the slope of the time series across the period of the Dominant Cycle as a ratio to the peak-to-peak amplitude of the Dominant Cycle. If the ratio is greater than one, then the uptrend is swamping the Dominant Cycle and it is not advisable to use the Dominant Cycle for swing trading. You can, however, use other MESA9 indicators such as the MESA9_Sine or the MESA9_BandPass Indicators as timers for picking an entry to buy in the direction of the uptrend. Similarly, if the ratio is less than minus one, then the downtrend is swamping the Dominant Cycle and you can use the MESA9_Sine or MESA9_BandPass Indicators to pick an entry to sell short into the downtrend. For trend trading, the MESA9_Sine and MES9_BandPass Indicators can also be used for timing trade exits when taking trend profits.
